Things I Joke About A lot: Chub-Rub
Things That Are Actually *very* Serious: Chub-Rub

Oh yes, my friendz, we’re going to the place where the sun-don’t-shine. And no, I’m not talking about this, but rather the back ‘n forth rub of one’s thighs on a hot summer’s day, and the unavoidable real-life problem all us gals & guys (with large & in charge thighs) have to battle.

So what exactly am I talking about? Urban Dictionary describes it as, “what fat girls experience when their inner-upper thighs rub together so much they get chaffed and rashes break out.” HOW RUDE. Because without doubt I know chub-rub ain’t biased to just “fat girls,” no Siree Bob!! I believe it affects guys and girls of all shapes & sizes and as some of you may, or may not know, it hurts. A lot.

But do not fret, my pretties, from living in the land down under, I have learned three excellent ways to ward off Chub-Rub and wanted to share them with you, so you too can have glossy, smooth, pain-free, thighs on a hot summer’s day.

  1. Short-Shorts: This is the most obvious solution to chub-rub; wear a pair of spandex bike shorts under dresses (or even pantaloons). It instantly stops the skin from rubbing raw (ewwww).
  2. Body Glide: Sadly not available in Australia, but it’s fantastic for the job (like deodrant, you just roll on. So sexy. I know). It’s pretty much just vaseline in a deodrant-like tube which can be purchased at any running store. They have mini ones for purses too!
  3. 3B Sweat Rash Cream: A cream? Yea, I was skeptical of this too, but I have been shocked and delighted at how well this works. It’s also the cheapest cream I’ve found (about $4/bottle)

I should also note a quick “anti chaffing” cream search quickly leads to numerous solutions to the dreaded waddle-walk on a hot summer’s day. So say no to the Box-Gap, and yes, to gliding thighs.

Also, have a tip for me and my fellow big-thighed friends? Does regular vaseline work? It’s always seemed too messy to try? Or Baby powder?
