Well, here’s a post I never thought I’d write about, How to Prepare
Brussel Sprouts Little Balls of Heaven. Tis true, oh-so-very-shockingly, they’ve been voted ‘worst’ vegetable numerous times over, but obviously all those people were wrong, as they’re absolutely delectaball. (get it? Because they’re balls. Me so funny).
So, how do I prepare my brussel sprouts? Good question fellow Interneters who haved asked me this numerous times. Here’s how, but please keep in mind, I’m the world’s laziest person-in-the-kitchen, which means these aren’t recipes, per se, just super, easy ways to get tasty brussel sprouts.
Slice the little end, stubby things off, and then peel off the 1st layer of leaves.
This is by far the easiest way to cook them. I buy the microwavable-steam-veggie-bag-things, pop them in there, and then 2 minutes later? Add salt n’ pepper and then Nom. Nom. Nom.
Choose a pot or pan, fill with water, pop the sprouts in and boil. I usually boil them for about 10 – 15 minutes. I wait till they’re bright green, and will check one before I remove them all. Add salt n’ pepper and then Nom. Nom. Nom.
Wrap in tinfoil, add some oil, spices, lemon, butter, whatever your heart desires, and then bake them for 20 – 25 minutes in 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Add salt n’ pepper and then Nom. Nom. Nom.
And boom! You’re done. Google tells me 1 sprout = 8 calories, but who cares, they’re good for you! So eat as many as you can.
[No need to judge me for my photo shoot above, as I’m judging myself for this one]
