3rd note to self: you’re awesome. yes, you there, you’re awesome. keep telling yourself that.
My Weekend in Review: Sunday
Sunday was perfect. It was a beautiful fall day and I had NOTHING to do. I woke up late, met friends for our usual Caesar-Sunday-Breakfast (yes, we get Caesars with our breakfast on Sundays, no matter how hungover we are, there’s even a fb event for this), and then we watched tv together and did nothing in the afternoon(aka perfect) except for making a quick Starbucks run (hmm hello Christmas menu, nice to see you again). In the evening I cleaned my condo, read, curled my hair, watched tv and was in bed by 10:30pm. Awesome, it was awesome.
I had a few moments this weekend of simple pleasures. One was seeing the light hit my earring collection and cast a beautiful shadow on my wall. Earrings are my 2nd material obsession (1st being shoes). This stems from being told I looked like a boy in grade 9, which instantly made me always wear earrings. Always.
My Weekend In Review: Saturday
Saturday morning I headed to Cora’s for breakfast with some fabulous ladies, and then headed to Queen West for a little shopping. My intention was to get up ridiculously early and line up for Jimmy Choo at H&M, but come Saturday morning I was way too lazy, (ed note: if anyone out there bought anything from that line, I’m UBER JEALOUS OF YOU, as the shoes were to die for…)
I ended up spending some money at Artizia, (hello new white sweater, plaid shirt and white tank top, welcome home babies). And in the afternoon I came into work for a few hours, with the intention of going to the gym afterwards, but epically failed in that department.
In the evening I threw the party of the ages, the theme? Beer and Pizza, aka Calories-Plus-More-calories. My favourite people came, including The Crush. We flirted a lot and I most likely would have stayed over at his place had my friend’s younger sister not needed a walk home…
I’ve concluded it’s not that he doesn’t like me per-say, because we get a long really well and have entertaining banter (he also stares at me a lot), but it’s just that we’re in different spots right now: he wants casual, and I don’t. I’ve accepted this and am content with this. Go me!
My Weekend in Review: Friday Night
Horses and dresses and dresses and horses. It was awesome. Besides seeing the world’s top jumping horses Friday night, another excellent feauture was getting dressed up and twirling in dresses. Literally, I twirled a lot, like.. a lot, a lot.
Before heading to the black tie event I tried on 6 different dresses. SIX DRESSES Y’ALL!! That means I had SIX dresses that I got to choose between. Think about that: SIX. This was huge for me, because had I ventured to this event a year ago? I would have only fit into one dress and thus been forced to wear it, and chances are, even then? I would have looked like a sausage in it.
Detour of the Day: A Blast from the past. Can you tell it’s a slow day at work?
I don’t blog too much about my family, but here I am (red dress) with my older sister (front tooth less), and younger brother (who was terrified of scissors, hence the hair), in South Africa looking golden and brown.
Yup! I’m a middle child (Marsha! Marsha! Marsha!!!!!).
