I feel like I’ve been a bad blogger lately. Actually, this is a constant thought of mine, which is obviously ridiculous, I know. I think it’s because lately my head has been working overtime, and I want to write all the things down I’m thinking, but simply end up staring at a blank page. Part of me feels numb inside. It’s weird. Because I also constantly feel excited for...

London!
I’m always a little nervous doing these types of things, but I’ve got a couple of requests for a London catchup, and as I would love-love-love to meet some new people, I thought, yessssssss, let’s do this.
So, would any & all of you Londoners, want to meet me for a quick little, casual coffee/drink? Perhaps tomorrow night? Which is awfully short notice (so sorry!), but I fly...

I went to the most beautiful wedding today. Really, and truly, it was wonderful. It was a wedding filled with love, friends, & the English countryside. It was small; 33 people to be exact; actually, it was perfect…
Except.
Except I missed Matt. I haven’t written much about this, because I suppose what’s the point? I’m here. He’s there. And that’s that. But...

It’s a weird thing to complain about traveling, because I am so aware that those (myself included) who travel are very, very lucky, but I need a moment to complain. Apologies in advance.
Today was the worst. THE WORST. I want to tell you the details about the insane number of unfortunate events, little and big, that went down, but my mind seems to have blocked out the details from this...

Moments in Paris
SNAILS (Escargots)
I can’t believe I’m writing this, but… when in Rome! I went into the dinner with an oh-hell-no attitude, and then what do you know? I tried a single snail (after *a lot* of pressure from not only my table, but also the locals). And? And it was, ummm… well, I will never-ever-ever eat one again, but I admit it was more my mind messing with me, because...

Notre Dame, Paris
When I was 18, I went to Paris for a school trip with a huge group of friends, and somehow spent a week there and never saw Notre Dame! Yea, I don’t know what I was thinking or doing either. Anywho, that means that this stunning cathedral was at the top of my ‘must-see’ list in Paris.
And see I did!
Notre Dame has acted as France’s main Catholic Cathedral since the...

Travelling Tips from Melbourne to Paris (via...
Do not think you won’t cry at the Melbourne airport, because you will. And you’ll cry harder than you’ve cried in the past fifteen months. In fact, you’ll cry so hard your eyes will stay puffy and red for hours later… I believe they call it ‘ugly cry.’
Bring cover-up makeup with you. It works magic on puffy crying eyes
Text everyone until the last second you possibly can because ‘omg I love you...
How lucky I am to have known so many people who...
The Tumblr team! Last Thursday I was lucky enough to meet up with nine of my favourite Melbourne Tumblr blogs (Oh hai there: Natalie, Chris, Mikey, Brooke, Ricki-Lee, Sam, Amy, and Sandy!) at Mrs. Parmas, to wave & hug & kiss goodbye.
When I first started blogging in 2009, I was soooo skeptical of meeting people from the Internet. Y’know, just in case it was an old, creepy man,...
Chicago 2013 Marathon
Hi friends *as I wave weirdly at my computer screen,*
This is just a little post to say, can I please get a hands up if you’re running The Chicago Marathon this October too?
I’m awfully excited about it, and was thinking of creating a Facebook event where we can all discuss our training, get tips, training plans, and encourage each other, y’know, when one of us is crawling...

Shrine of Remembrance
I’m not sure if it’s just me, but when I was in primary school (or around that age) and learned all about the Great Wars, Remembrance Day, and the men and women who went off to fight in wars, I would think, “wow, what brave older people,” just as I was taught. I respected them, and knew they had done a great thing for my country, but to me they were older people, older...

Melbourne's Street Art
One of Melbourne’s defining qualities is its street art. The city was one of the first in the world to embrace street artists, and today artwork can be seen throughout the inner CBD (central business district), and inner suburbs (like Carlton, Fitzroy, Richmond).
There are several alleyways throughout the city designated specifically to street art, but Hosier Lane is certainly the most...

Dear Friend,
I need to choose my words wisely for this post. Wisely, because the person this post is directed to will read this. At least, I think she will.
But first, a story.
I remember the first time I went to my good friend Sarah’s apartment. I must have been 21 or 22. She lived in a beautiful two-bedroom apartment down by the lake and we ended up just sitting on the couch and chatting about...

Melbourne, Australia
With my upcoming departure next Tuesday I’ve become a little camera-happy, but Melbourne never disappoints. Oh boy, what a beautiful city I was lucky enough to live in.
It’s a rainy, cold day in Melbourne and I just taped up my last (well, only) box to ship home. I’ve swapped my backpack for a suitcase, and I’ve sold off the items I don’t need (drawers, duvet, lamp, etc.). PHEW! Can’t believe how real this is becoming!!
Kinda, sorta, maybe getting *really* excited for Paris, London and then HOME.

My Top Travel Tips
Decide if you actually want to do it. I realize this is a very peculiar point to place in travel tips, but part of me thinks that this is the most crucial. Everyone and their mother adds “travel” to their list of things they love, but I feel it’s so easy to get caught up in the world of “I must travel, there’s something wrong with me if I don’t,” and I really don’t believe that. And...

"Liz is Getting Deported, So Let's Drink"
And with that, my second last weekend is done and done. Very bizarre to think a week from now I’ll have *one sleep* left in the beautiful city of Melbourne (truth be told, I’m not quite sure it’s hit me yet), but hush you, we shall not speak of that, but rather…Saturday night!
Saturday evening was my ‘Liz is Getting Deported’ party, which was all sorts of fun. I’m not a huge...
I really don’t want to go for a run, but I will go for a run. But I really, really, don’t want to. But still, I will.
Carry on.
Shortcuts & Diet Pills
Did you know I once ordered weight loss pills? Because I did.
I was about 14 at the time and painfully aware of my size. Painfully aware that I was bigger than the other girls. And painfully constantly reminded by how much I wanted to lose weight. I’m not exactly sure where I saw the ad for weight loss pills - I think it was at the back of one of those glamour magazines - but I do...

He’s lying next to me right now. And he’s between a light sleep, and a deep. He’s in that stage where his body is relaxing so he has little jolts as he drifts further into the abyss.
And his arm is around me. So when he jolts he squeezes me, and then pulls me closer in.
He feels so warm. Safe. And I can feel his heart beat against my back as his warm breath surrounds my neck.
We have 20 days...
